Hello Members! Hello fellow orchid lovers, Can you believe it’s already August? This year has flown by… and our October Show is two months away! As I have mentioned previously, we really need your help and support! Sponsors are needed for orchid trophies, programs, etc. So, please ask your employers, doctor, friends to at least go in together as a trophy sponsor for $30. Lots of volunteers are also needed to make this year’s show unlike any others.
Our Nominating Committee (Hellen Wagner, Shellee Kandall & Dianne Osborne) for next years’ Board of Directors have been Last month’s meeting was a lot of fun, thanks to Mac of Mac’s Orchids. At the beginning of his presentation on Philippine Species, Mac asked all present to raise their hands and repeat after him….(see below for wording). Mac also had some wonderful orchids to sell after his presentation!
As mentioned at last month’s meeting, Ena Vilabrera has accepted the position as Vice President and Paul Morgan has accepted the Treasurer position. Hellen Wagner has also accepted the Director position previously held by Paul. Thanks to you all! We know you’ll be a great addition to our Board! Speaking of the Board, I invite you to our Board meetings, held the first Tuesday of each month (8/3) at 6pm @ Oculina Bank at 610 Delaware Avenue.
Our meeting this month features Ken & Judy Russ, who will talk about their AOS awarded plants. They will have a few plants for sale; members sale table is open. A copy of the newly adopted By-laws will be available at the meeting as well. See you on the 14th and please remember to wear name tags and bring your show-n-tell orchids. Happy Growing!
